Towering canyon walls enclose the East Fork of the Virgin River in much the same
manner as the Zion Narrows. The exit is to the left, but first head to the upper narrows
section of Parunuweap. This is the section of the river called the Barracks and is BLM
land rather than NPS land. The Barracks section is a magnificent slot canyon.
Hike about .5 miles to the right to explore the Powell plaque.
