Zion Photo: Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway

When driving the switchbacks on the south side of the Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel, the Towers of the Virgin at 7157' tall
guard the valley below, just as the 7257' Sentinel appear to watch Pine Creek and the Switchbacks below.
Water flows down a hidden canyon in the photo.  The Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway and the east side of Zion National Park
offer a breathtaking cruise along towering monoliths and mounds of sandstone frozen in time. Take the time to get out of
your vehicle at the pullouts and inhale the magnificent Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. Driving is reported to be one of
American's favorite past times and the road through Zion National Park to Mount Carmel Junction has few comparisons.
