Orderville Canyon Trailhead Directions:
Orderville Canyon requires a car shuttle and is done as a long day hike. It's
nice to have a commercial shuttle or a friend with a 4WD drop off hikers or to
have another 4WD to retrieve the first. Directions to the trailhead: Leave Zion
from the east gate and drive 2.4 miles to the signed North Fork Road. Turn and
go 5 miles up the road past the Ponderosa where the paved road will quickly turn
to a dirt road. (Passable by 2WD when dry.) The Orderville Canyon Trailhead turnoff
is 6 miles past the Ponderosa. (11 miles from the turn-off on to North Fork Road).
From this point a 4WD is required in all weather conditions. This road can be
washed out, slippery and difficult to navigate and when wet can be impossible
to drive on. Most 4WDs can make it in about 2 miles (when dry) leaving about
.5 miles to hike to the riverbed where the Orderville Canyon Trail begins.

Once in Orderville Canyon a map is not necessary. Just follow the water course
to the Zion Narrows. It is interesting however to note the side canyons.
