Coral Pink Sand Dunes - OHV
The Coral Pink Sand Dunes offers 2000 acres of sand, much of it for OHV play.
There are hundreds of miles of trails and many are developed for 4-wheel vehicles.
Off highway vehicles are allowed on the sand, but a section of sand near the
boardwalk is only for non-motorized use.
Off-Highway Trails
The Elephant Butte Trail starts 4 miles south of the park entrance and connects
with the Barracks Trail. Both paths boast beautiful views. The Barracks Trail
is exceptional and takes riders to see great views of Zion National park and
the White Cliffs. Begin the Elephant Butte Trail 4 miles south of the Coral Pink
Sand Dunes entrance. After traveling 8 miles, turn-off on the Barracks Trail.
You can ignore this turn and follow the main Elephant Butte Trail returning the
way you came or follow the Barracks Trail for 5.2 miles. These trails lead to
remote areas. Be sure your off-terrain vehicle can safely make the trip. Lower
tire pressures are recommended for the trail.
Sand Highway - This one-way track is the most popular OHV track at the dunes.
South Boundary Trail - A one-way trail on the eastern side of the main dunes
area.
Elephant
Butte Trail - Begins 4 miles south of the park entrance and connects
with the Barracks trail.
Barracks
Trail - Start this trail .25 miles south of Mount Carmel Junction.
Sand Springs Route - Out of the main section of the dunes and on the main
access road to Moquith Mountain.
Indian Canyon
Petroglyphs - This is a fun 4WD track ending at a short
hike to pictographs.
Favorite 4WD and ATV environments, in the Southern Utah area, are the Coral
Pink Sand Dunes, Red
Canyon and Dixie National Forest, on Cedar
Mountain.
Coral Pink Sand Dunes and More
The Coral Pink Sand Dunes is central to the great national parks and national
monuments of Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Bring your ATVs, dirt bikes

National Park, Bryce
Canyon, Grand
Canyon North Rim and ATV friendly, Red
Canyon, Cedar
Mountain and the Grand
Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Coral Pink Sand Dunes is in the
center of natures collection of grand rock art.
