The trails on this page are located in the main section of Zion National Park, rather than in Zion Canyon. The east side of Zion is where some of the parks most impressive hikes begin such as: Zion Narrows, East Rim, Parunuweap Canyon, Bridge Mountain and Pine Creek. Travel along the Zion-Mt. Carmel Hwy is year-round. This page describes the Zion National Park trails found along the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway.

Zion Canyon Hiking - From late March until late October, Zion Canyon is accessed via the Zion Canyon Shuttle, and the rest of the year the Zion Canyon Road can be traveled in your private vehicle.
Kolob Hiking - There are two sections of the park called Kolob, one by Cedar City, Kolob Canyons, and another near the small town of Virgin, Kolob Terrace.

Suggested Hiking Gear : A sturdy pair of shoes are recommend for many of the trails in Zion National Park. Many quality shoes will help grip the rocks and prevent injury. Experienced hikers and canyoneers like the Sportiva Exum Ridge. This shoe is great for hiking, bouldering and canyoneering.
